  1. Marisa Marchitelli stepped in as Consultant Photo Editor for one and a half months for Citylife magazine May and June 2011, replacing our regular Photo Editor who took personal leave. In a matter of days she had restructured and began the process of centralizing our company’s photo library, which consists of over 80,000 images. Managing an intern, they created a system which will be used for many years to come; well categorized, edited, tagged and easily searchable. Not only that, she was required to be photo editor for two publications of Citylife magazine, including shooting the cover of our June edition and most of the photographs for our 20th anniversary edition in July 2011. She brainstormed with our creative team, initiated many ideas for photo-led features as well as took photographs in Chiang Mai and Bangkok of our many contributors including the president of The Nation newspaper and well known writer Christian Moore. We were happy to work with Marisa and hope to be able to collaborate on future projects.

  2. I have known Marisa since 1999 and have had the pleasure of working with her in various capacities. I first hired her as an assistant director for a film I directed in 2001 called Orfeo’s Vigil. This led to us working together on several photography assignments, which included both production and digital post-production. Most recently, in 2009, I hired Marisa as a Professorial Lecturer at the Mass Media, Visual, and Performing Arts department at the University of the District of Columbia, teaching History of Photography. Marisa is not only talented, but also very responsible and knowledgeable in the field of photography and related media.

  7. I have worked with Marisa for six years and we have hired her for all of our NYC events since 2007. We are constantly impressed by the superior quality of her work and she has always met, and exceeded our deadlines. Her experience as a professor gives her the ability to easily explain production terminology when dealing with individuals who have little to no experience in the field. Her extensive knowledge of the production process combined with her experience working in various environments and types of people has become a great asset for us. Whether she is shooting an event that involves clowns and elephants or high profile persons such as Mayor Bloomberg, she gives all jobs the same level of attention, detail and most of all, respect. I am confident that no matter what type of job I hire Marisa for I can expect the same outstanding caliber of work.

  8. And if a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it’s as though I’ve neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up. I know that the accident of my being a photographer has made my life possible.
    —Richard Avedon
  9. I went into photography because it seemed like the perfect vehicle for commenting on the madness of today’s existence.
